A mail-order pharmacy is seeking five staff pharmacists for direct hire opportunities, offering a competitive pay range of $62-$68 per hour, based on experience and additional state licenses. This role supports dispensing primarily generic non-insurance medications with some brand and specialty drugs across all 50 states plus DC. The fast-growing organization dispensed over 200,000 prescriptions in September 2025 and anticipates expanding client accounts in 2026.
Location: On-site in Newport, KY
Schedule
- Rotating 8-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:30 AM
- Typically 4 days on an earlier shift, 1 day on a later morning shift
- Weekend rotation every 6th or 8th weekend (limited weekend operation)
- Occasional weekday shifts as needed
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and dispense prescription orders
- Provide pharmaceutical care including patient counseling on medications and health care
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with controlled substance regulations
- Communicate with physicians and use reference materials to resolve prescription issues
- Adapt quickly to a high-volume workflow and collaborate effectively with the team
Qualifications
- PharmD/RPh with at least 1 year of pharmacist experience
- Active Kentucky pharmacy license in good standing (additional licenses preferred)
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work in multiple systems simultaneously
- Detail-oriented, dependable, with excellent communication and multitasking skills
- Comfortable following directions within a team environment
- Prior mail order or retail automation experience (especially with Parata systems) is highly desirable and should be noted explicitly in your resume
